William "David" MacDonald

Official Obituary of

11/3/1978 - to - 10/8/2024

William "David" MacDonald aged 46 passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Chinook Regional Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He left this world with his loving wife Ashley by his side, and an immense amount of love behind him.

David was born March 11, 1978, to Stanley & Elizabeth (Hardy) MacDonald in O'Leary, Prince Edward Island. He grew up in the small community of Milo PEl, and like most of the boys in that area spent his winters playing hockey on the local frozen ponds and the summers in that red dirt, all with his best bud Randy by his side. David grew up to be a farmer, just like his father and grandfathers before him, and had an extreme love of animals which was seen by anyone who ever visited his farm, or home.

In 2013 David moved from PEl to Alberta where he met and married his soul mate Ashley. They combined all their children: Colton, Brayden and Aleea; Hunter, McKenzie, Makayla and Camryn to become a blended family of 9 who loved each other very much. Ashley was a strong encourager of David to follow his dreams, which unbeknownst to many was a dream of trucking- inspired by his brother-in law Jim. David became the best version of himself because Ashely believed and actively encouraged him to chase his dreams, and he did just that, buying that big, beautiful RED Peterbilt he dreamed of. Not only was he able to share this dream with his oldest son, Colton, who spent many hours driving and passing down the love of trucking with him, but also his daughter Camryn who spent many days just travelling and spending time with her dad in his truck.

David is survived by his wife Ashley; his 7 children; Hunter, Colton, McKenzie, Makayla, Brayden, Camryn and Aleea; his siblings Beverly (John) Dennis, James (Joanne), Doreen (Jim) MacLean and Heather MacDonald; his nieces and nephews Erin (Nathan) Arsenault, Andrew Wells, Ryan (Chastity) Veno, Nicole MacDonald, and his great nieces Samantha, Kayleigh, Chloe and Dallas,

He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth; grandparents William and Velda MacDonald and Emerson and Hazel Hardy; and his nephew Peter Wells.

He will be lovingly remembered by his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Marilyn and brother-in-law Brian.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.

Ashley and family would like to thank the nursing staff of the 3d floor as well as the palliative care Dr's and Nurses and all of those from Chinook Regional Hospital involved in David care, as well as the multiple paramedics and emergency staff that have responded and provided care to David over these past few years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre in memory of David.
